Supporting well-being for healthcare workers

How is the COVID-19 crisis affecting health professionals personally and their ability to connect with patients? Center Founder and Director Richard Davidson was part of a webinar that explores that topic and shares first-hand experiences from health professionals in New Mexico, Washington D.C. and New York City.

Other speakers included:

Dr. Sergio A. Sánchez-Luna, The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology

Dr. Aline Charabaty, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Clinical Director of the GI Division, Director of the IBD Center

Dr. Violeta Popov, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, Director of Bariatric Endoscopy, NY VA Harbor Healthcare (Manhattan)

We're grateful for this conversation with our healthcare colleagues who shared the challenges of COVID-19, but also some silver linings that helped their well-being and deepened their connection with patients. One doctor shared that a virtual check-in with a patient felt like a "reverse visit" because the patient was just as – if not more – concerned about her well-being as a doctor during the pandemic.
